Together, we are committed to the Plastic Bricks project in Ivory Coast. This initiative tackles both the massive plastic waste problem and the shortage of schools. Plastic waste is collected and recycled into building blocks for classrooms. So far, no fewer than 419 classrooms have been built, with another 107 under construction. Thousands of children now have access to safe and inspiring learning environments where they can grow and thrive.
Aka teaches in one of these new classrooms in SangouinĂ©, in the west of Ivory Coast. She shares her experience with us: “It is wonderful to teach in these classrooms. The children’s results keep improving. They are happy and excited to come to school.”
Through this project, we contribute to 8 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
