Please be informed that a 𝟰𝟴-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲 will bring operations at the Port of Rotterdam to a standstill this week. Employees of ILS and Matrans, two key lashing companies, will stop work from 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟴 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟱:𝟭𝟱 until 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟬 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟱:𝟭𝟱.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴:
– Lashing operations, essential for securing containers on vessels have been halted (or severely reduced) at several major terminals (including APM Terminals Maasvlakte II, Hutchison Ports Delta II, ECT Delta and Rotterdam World Gateway).

– 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 over pay and working conditions
– 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 on the new Collective Labour Agreement (CLA)
– 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 for lashing staff

– 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱: without lashing services, ships cannot be safely loaded or discharged
